Pam, Practice Manager 

Pam joined FVAH "in the beginning" with Dr. Michaels and Dr. Chemelewski.  She is now the practice manager and is devoted to the clients and their pets.  Pam and her husband, Gerry, share their home with 3 cats (Truman, Opie and Pearl), and 4 Zebra Finches.  In her spare time she enjoys riding her bicycle, gardening, hiking and bird watching.  She is also a huge fan of professional bike racing.

Janet joined FVAH in 2009 after retiring from a career with the US Postal Service.  She has been a client of FVAH since moving to the Crystal Lake area in 1990.  She has gone from vet assistant to purchasing agent/front desk assistant.  Janet lives with her significant other, Tom, and their dog, Delaney.  In her free time she loves to read, go on walks with her dog and catching up on her favorite tv shows.

Dawn, Veterinary Technician, Fear Free Certified Professional, Social Media Manager

 

Dawn, joined FVAH in 2009.  She went to school to become a certified veterinary assistant.  Since then, she has progressed to a veterinary technician, social media manager, and is a Fear Free Certified Professional.  Her family has been bringing their pets to Fox Valley since it first opened in 1959.  She has been bringing her own pets to FVAH for over 25 years.  Since a little girl she knew she was meant to work with animals.  Dawn lives with her husband and two fur children:  Tyrion (munchkin cat), and Arya (lab mix puppy). In her free time she enjoys being in nature, hiking, camping, photography, painting her nails and traveling.

Before joining our family at FVAH, Laura was a preschool teacher for the Rockford Public School.  She then made a decision to enroll at the Rockford Career College and graduated as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).  She's been apart of the team here since 2011 and is Fear Free Certified.  In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband and twin boys, Cole and Calvin.  Traveling and fostering cats and dogs are a couple of her passions.  Their family also consists of her 5 pets: Sammi a Schnoodle, Maria a Shiba Inu mix, Rogelio a Chihuahua puppy, Carl a chihuahua and Sabrina a Tabby cat.

Alissa first started at FVAH in 1998 just after graduating college with a BS degree in biology.  When her first son, Bryce, was born she became a stay at home mom until she came back to work here in 2014.   She lives in Crystal Lake with her husband, Bob, and their 2 boys Bryce and Brayden.  They share their home with their 2 cats (Sam and Daisy), 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs (Duncan & Winston) and many fish.  In her free time, Alissa enjoys running, yoga, walking her dogs and cheering her boys on in soccer and basketball.

Laura started here at FVAH in 2016.  She has a huge passion for animals and has grown up with German Shepherds.  Laura loves learning and has become very knowledgeable in our laboratory with our diagnostic machines.  When she's not working, she loves to catch up on her favorite tv shows and relax with her fiance and their 3 fur children: Whitaker, a tiger tabby cat, Wyndell, a black & white cat and Ruth, a Chihuahua mix puppy.

Briana has been in the veterinary field since 2014. She is also a certified veterinary assistant and have attended vet tech school.  She has a son named Jayden who just turned 8, a Siberian Husky named Chanel, and a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix named Louis Vuitton. Her favorite thing about vet med is the special connections she makes with scared or nervous patients.  It makes her feel good to gain their respect and acceptance to get through what we need to do using fear free tactics. She has always had a special connection with animals and wanted to be a Veterinarian when she grew up. She's not a doctor, but she is a vet tech so her dream came true.

Carissa has been working at Fox Valley since 2015. She started as a kennel assistant and is now a veterinary assistant. She is currently studying to be a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has four cats and two dogs and is an avid lover of books and tea.

Lisa joined FVAH in the fall 2021 and has been in the veterinary field for 6 years as a kennel technician.  She has had a love for dogs her entire life and joined 4H in her youth where she was introduced to dog training.  In her free time she enjoys training dogs.  She has a husband, son, daughter and a grandson.  Her pets includes 2 English Springer Spaniels (Remmie and Tillie), a Pit/Lab mix (Murphy), a Lab mix (Lena) and a cat (Eddie).

Stephanie joined FVAH August of 2021 as a vet/tech assistant. She has recently taken a 6 month Veterinary Assistant program at MCC passing her exam as a Vet Assistant with now a certification. Stephanie is going on almost 3 years in the veterinary field, starting as a kennel assistant to now a vet/tech assistant. She has 1 Dog. In her free time she enjoys nature walks, painting & playing acoustic guitar.

Ashleigh joined FVAH in the summer of 2023 as a vet assistant. When she isn't working here, she is working with her clients being a realtor.  In her spare time, she loves painting, crocheting, gardening and fostering animals.  Her and her husband has 4 cats (Frankie, Odessa, meatloaf and Lou Lou)

Cricket became a FVAH resident in 2020 when she lost her owner and home.  She has been very content with everything except for her weight loss program.  She enjoys spending her day sleeping in a cabinet (under a cat bed and blankets because she thinks she is a turtle) or basking in the sun.  Cricket enjoys getting pets and all the love from all of us here.
