Pam, Practice Manager
Pam joined FVAH "in the beginning" with Dr. Michaels and Dr. Chemelewski. She is now the practice manager and is devoted to the clients and their pets. Pam and her husband, Gerry, share their home with a Yorkie (Mickey), 3 cats (Luke, Scarlet, Truman), a bunny (Thumper), and 4 Zebra Finches. In her spare time she enjoys riding her bicycle, gardening, hiking and bird watching. She is also a huge fan of professional bike racing.
Andrea, Lead Technician
Andrea has been working in the veterinary industry since 1999. She started at FVAH in 2006 and is passionate about lab work that includes blood, urine and cytologies. She is highly skilled at drawing blood, she is our go to phlebotomist. She shares her home with her husband, Paul, and their 2 beautiful daughters: Madison, born in 9/2016 and Olivia, born in 8/2017. They also have 2 fur children: Tanner, (9) an Australian Cattle Dog mix who was diagnosed with IMHA in 2014, but is currently in remission; and Amber, (14) an independent tiger tabby cat.
Janet, Purchasing Agent, Patient Care Advocate
Janet joined FVAH in 2009 after retiring from a career with the US Postal Service. She has been a client of FVAH since moving to the Crystal Lake area in 1990. She has gone from vet assistant to purchasing agent/front desk assistant. Janet lives with her significant other, Tom, and their dog, Jesse. In her free time she frequents her cabin up north in Wisconsin.
Dawn, Veterinary Technician, Fear Free Certified Professional, Social Media Manager
Dawn, joined FVAH in 2009. She went to school to become a certified veterinary assistant. Since then, she has progressed to a veterinary technician, social media manager, and is a Fear Free Certified Professional. Her family has been bringing their pets to Fox Valley since it first opened in 1959. She has been bringing her own pets to FVAH for the past 24 years. Since a little girl she knew she was meant to work with animals. A lifelong resident of Crystal Lake, Dawn lives with her husband and their three fur children. Her 8 year old Boxer mix, Rufus, whom is currently fighting a dangerous fungal infection called Blastomycosis. Her 7 year old Munchkin cat, Tyrion, is such a little sweetheart, but he's also a real trouble maker - he has had 2 foreign body surgeries so he keeps her on her toes all the time at home. Her 9 year old grey cat, Roxy, is a very vocal girl who talks back to you. She is Dawn's healthy fur baby.
Laura, Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Fear Free Certified Professional
Before joining our family at FVAH, Laura was a preschool teacher for the Rockford Public School. She then made a decision to enroll at the Rockford Career College and graduated as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). She's been apart of the team here since 2011 and is Fear Free Certified. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband and twin 3 year old boys, Cole and Calvin. Traveling and fostering cats and dogs are a couple of her passions. Their family also consists of her 4 pets: Ellie (15) a Chihuahua, Layla (12) a Chihuahua, Sammi (8) a Schnoodle, and Sabrina (11) a Tabby cat.
Alissa, Office Manager, Patient Care Advocate
Alissa first started at FVAH in 1998 just after graduating college with a BS degree in biology. When her first son, Bryce, was born she became a stay at home mom until she came back to work here in 2014. She lives in Crystal Lake with her husband, Bob, and their 2 boys Bryce (15) and Brayden (13). They share their home with their 2 cats (Sam and Daisy), yellow lab (Mookie), Bernese Mountain Dog (Duncan) and many fish. In her free time, Alissa enjoys running, yoga, walking her dogs and cheering her boys on in soccer and basketball.
Mary, Veterinary Technician, Fear Free Certified Professional, Lab Manager
Mary grew-up and still lives in Cary. Her family has been bringing their pets to FVAH since they moved here in 1993. Mary graduated with a BS in Wildlife Ecology and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2015 before transitioning to vet med. She started at FVAH in January of 2016 and is passionate about anesthesia, dentistry, and surgery. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional. She currently has three cats: Bruno (15) a big orange tabby who is always begging for table scraps, Izzy (4) a sassy and chatty calico, and Cooper (4) a little orange tabby whom has severe anxiety/OCD, idiopathic cystitis, lower urinary tract disease, and has blocked twice. Mary will always be excited to hear that a cat has urinated!
Laura, Veterinary Assistant, Fear Free Certified Professional
Laura started here at FVAH in 2016. She has a huge passion for animals and has grown up with German Shepherds. Laura loves learning and has become very knowledgeable in our laboratory with our diagnostic machines. When she's not working, she loves to catch up on her favorite tv shows and relax with her long time boyfriend and their fur baby, Whitaker, a tiger tabby cat.
Briana, Veterinary Technician, Fear Free Certified Professional
Briana, joined FVAH as a veterinary technician in 2018. She has been in the field for 6 years and went to school to become a certified veterinary assistant. Since then, Briana has been enrolled in school (Penn Foster) for her veterinary technician associate degree. In her spare time, she spends a lot of time at home with her fiancé, Jason, and their 3 year old son, Jayden. They share their home with their 4 pets: Romeo (12) a Pit/Lab mix, Chanel (6) a Siberian Husky, Louis (2) a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, and Millie (14) a black and white cat.
Becca, Kennel Assistant
Becca joined FVAH in 2019 as a kennel assistant after graduating from McHenry County College with an AA degree. She has spent time traveling, including spending a semester of her education pursuit in Anchorage, AK. Becca's pets include her cat, Ashley, and two guinea pigs, Theo and Wally. She enjoys volunteering outside of work as well as taking time to spend with her family and friends.

Figaro, Hospital Cat
Figaro joined the Fox Valley family in 2009. He enjoys laying in the sun on his favorite chair (which the staff moves the chair as the sun moves), giving back rubs, showing off to other cats who are spending the day/night here, and splashing around in his water bowl. You will most likely find him laying on his bed on top of the dryer. He's a very spoiled boy.
